Pool tips

Field notes from the desert.

A few of the things we wish every Las Vegas pool owner knew. Save them, share them — or just call us.

Test chemistry weekly

Desert sun burns through chlorine fast. Aim for 1–3 ppm free chlorine and pH between 7.4–7.6 to protect your finish and skin.

Run pumps 8–10 hrs/day in summer

In Vegas summers, your pool needs at least one full turnover per day. Cut runtime in winter to save energy.

Skim after every dust storm

Monsoon dust kills filters fast. A 5-minute skim and basket empty after storms saves you a service call.

Watch evaporation

Pools can lose 1/4” per day in summer. Top off weekly so the skimmer keeps pulling debris properly.

Brush the tile line

Hard water leaves calcium scale at the waterline. A weekly brushing prevents permanent etching.

Schedule a fall equipment check

October is the perfect time to service heaters, salt cells, and automation before next swim season hits.
